The great white Santa Clause lie & what Is Christmas discussion....

On Facebook a friend just posted that she feels guilty lying to the children about Santa.  She has a range of ages in the household and any minute now the older ones will get wise to her jive and leak the news to the young-ins.  It is interesting that she believes the children will see the lie and question the truth in all of the God figures.  Santa Clause has become a mythical figure that knows if the child has been good or bad.... Wouldn't it be far better- even in a non-particularly religious household-- for the children to understand Christmas?

It's really not that complicated: the world is celebrating a great man's birthday.

This man impacted many lives.  Although his goodness can still be seen today, and his love for humanity in general still shows, he is not "here" so we celebrate his memory and on his Birthday we can't give HIM gifts- so we give each other gifts.  So Christmas is named after Jesus Christ, well that's his name!

....that's easy to comprehend for just about anybody.

Santa Clause fits in because he's another good man of history, he lives on in spirit, his spirit inspires others to give gifts, his past good deeds inspire others to do good deeds around this holiday and so he is also celebrated.

If you want to be remembered, and be put on his list to get gifts, then you need to be good, and give to others too.  It's not just about being good to get stuff, it's about giving to get....and in giving=there is goodness.

I can't imagine how many people are harboring secret insecurities because their parents had fun watching them scurry around all freaked out that Santa could see them pinching their little sister and they thought they wouldn't get that shiny widget on Christmas morning!  So, in my opinion- Santa on! But, don't let the obsession for gifts on that day get out of hand, and don't spin Sant Clause as a god figure in the first place.

On a side note----Little beastly kids whining that they got girl toys instead of boy toys telling parents that they hate them? [Jimmy Kimmel, show sp?]  Is that really the kinds of little adults you want to raise?

Bubbly on Your Budget is an effervescent guide to living on a budget without sacrificing style. First published in 1937, these tips stand the test of time. Author Marjorie Hillis proves that it isn t how much we have, but how we act, that matters. With a charming can-do attitude she offers hundreds of creative solutions, including creating the perfect capsule wardrobe, dining out for brunch rather than dinner, and setting aside a budget for miscellaneous (this is where the bubbly fits in!) each month. Brimming with vintage line illustrations, this delightful book shows that being smart about money and living life to the fullest never goes out of style.

Crafty Wedding.....

Yes, I made my bouquet, and due to a crazy hairdresser, I was late for my own wedding, so had to make my bouquet in the kitchen sink wih guests watching!

The mason jar center pieces had organic lavender citronella candles to keep the pests away!

 Our song......
"You And I"
Here we are
On earth together
It's you and I
God has made us fall in love
It's true....

I've really found
Someone like you
Will it stay
The love you feel for me
Will you say
That you will be by my side
To see me through
Until my life is through....

Well in my mind
We can conquer the world
In love you and I

You and I, you and I...
I'm glad
At least in my life
I've found someone
That may not be here forever
To see me through....

But I found strength in you
Cause in my mind
You will stay here always
In love you and I...

You and I, you and IYou and I, you and I
You and I
In my mind...

We can conquer the world
In love you and I
You and I, you and I
You and I...

So many jars of beads, MLFC tags, Mink Balls, Baubles.....

I have jars and jars of stock pearls, baubles, charms, altered art charms, flowers, tags, charms, if I could find someone who would want the whole lot for $$ I might take them up on it! Or, just get back to work and start listing things again on eBay.  MLFC has been around since early 2006. It was going strong into 2007 during a divorce and was something to keep me sane. Late 2007 the world changed, our homes were losing value, people were being downsized, re-sized and the world was too crazy.  Although I found a new beacon of strength in my life, I left the crafting behind (and all the pretty jars of supplies).  I think 2011 I might have a temporary glorious comeback until all these pretty little jars are empty!

Young & Wealthy

Okay, so we might not be that young anymore, and our net-wealth has dwindled, but we still need a little something to reward ourselves for surviving the downsizing and the shift of the workloads! MLFC Motto: Dare to be different with edgy, rock ‘n’ roll-inspired jewelry.

• Layers of heavyweight metals and rock-inspired chains add a touch of toughness to your outfits

• Black leather or cord adds drama

• Chunky, funky rings is what you love — nothing dainty!

• Large cuffs and statement watches match your adventurous style personality

Young & Wealthy

MLFC Motto: Pile it on! A girl can’t have enough sparkle.

• Your drawn toward anything blingy and sparkly, like dazzling bangles and layers of jewels

• Oversize anything is what you love — earrings, bracelets, rings, necklaces

• Oversized links and chains add even more sizzle to your seductive style

• Mother of pearl and gemstones are the ideal materials for a glamour girl

Young & Wealthy

I dont know about the rest of the people here but I, frankly, prefer to specialize in something instead of purchasing everything everywhere. A bag or a purse remains to be merely a useful item until you personalize it to suit your own taste. By using a bag accessory, you can personalize it without making permanent changes to the bag.

Taking Root...My Avocado.....Someday....

If you have ever killed a houseplant, by over or under watering, perhaps you should consider growing houseplants in water instead of soil. While many plants will grow as well in water as in soil, some actually grow better in water! There are several obvious advantages to growing plants in water. In addition to not having to worry about giving your plants too much or too little water, there is no messy soil or drain dish to bother with, and none of the hassles associated with re potting when the plant outgrows its container. There are just a few basic rules to consider, when growing plants in water. Select glass containers whenever possible. Plastic, ceramic, or pottery containers may, over time, leach harmful chemicals into the water, which could damage or kill your plants. Algae may tend to grow in clear containers exposed to bright light. To avoid problems with algae, use dark glass containers or place your glass containers inside baskets, decorative bowls, or pots.

If you plan to grow your plants from unrooted cuttings, you should remove all the leaves from the portions of the stems that will be under water. The cuttings should be at least six inches long. Place the cuttings in the container and pour in approximately three inches of washed gravel (mixed with one teaspoon of washed charcoal) or glass marbles to anchor the stems. Add non-chlorinated water at room temperature. Do not use demineralized water and do not add plant food. Plant food should only be added to water for plants with very well developed root systems.
